I don’t have the typical backstory of a Registered Dietitian (RD) and runner. Growing up, I didn’t have a “calling” to be in the health and nutrition field, and I definitely wasn’t athletic. In high school I was overweight, knew nothing about eating healthy, and wasn’t active. It wasn’t until my early twenties that I found the world of fitness and nutrition.
After beginning my undergraduate studies to become an RD, I developed a love for running that for once wasn’t directly tied to my weight. I continued my studies while becoming a faster and more competitive runner. During these years, I personally experienced the impact nutrition can have on athletic performance, and how that transcends so many other areas of life.
Since then, I’ve run 6 marathons and far exceeded any of my own expectations, while helping other runners do the same. I truly love what I do and the people I get to work with.
